Souq Libya (سوق ليبيا) is Libya's first homegrown online marketplace. We connect Libyan shoppers with local vendors across all major cities — Tripoli, Benghazi, Misrata, Sabha, Zliten and beyond — with cash on delivery, bilingual Arabic/English service, and a network of independent couriers who know the ground.

Our mission

To make it as easy to buy and sell across Libya as it is anywhere else in the world. We started because no one was building for our country first — international platforms barely ship here, and local sellers had no place to reach customers nationally.

↩️ Returns & refunds

If something arrives damaged, wrong, or just isn't what you expected, we'll make it right.

How it works

  • 14-day returns. You have 14 days from delivery to request a return on most items.
  • Free pickup. The same courier network that delivered your order picks up the return.
  • Full refund or replacement. Your choice — cash refund, store credit, or replacement product.
  • No-fault returns. Damaged or wrong items are always free to return, even after 14 days.

Items you can't return

  • Perishable food and groceries
  • Personal care products that have been opened (cosmetics, perfume)
  • Custom or personalised items
  • Digital goods and gift cards

To start a return, open the order in your account dashboard and choose "Return this item", or call customer support. We'll send a courier within 24 hours.

Standard delivery is free on every order over 500 LYD across all cities.

Express delivery

Available in Tripoli (4-hour) and major cities (next-day). 75 LYD flat fee. Order before 12pm to qualify for same-day in Tripoli.

❓ Frequently asked questions

Do I need a credit card?

No. Cash on delivery is the default — pay the courier when your order arrives. Sadad bank transfer, MobiCash, and card payments are launching in the next phase.

How long does delivery take?

Same or next day in Tripoli, 1–2 days in major cities, 2–4 days in regional cities. See the Shipping section for details.

What if I'm not home when the courier arrives?

The courier will call you before arrival. If you're not available, we'll attempt redelivery up to two more times at no extra cost. After that, the order returns to the warehouse.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes — you can cancel any pending order from your account dashboard. Once a vendor has packed and shipped the order, it can only be cancelled by contacting support.

Are products genuine?

Every vendor goes through KYC verification before listing on Souq Libya. Counterfeit listings are removed and the vendor suspended on first offence.

How do I become a vendor?

Is my data safe?

Yes. Sessions use HttpOnly Secure cookies. Passwords are hashed with PBKDF2. Admin accounts have optional 2FA via authenticator app. We never sell your data to third parties.

If you make, import, or distribute products in Libya, we want you on the platform. Souq Libya gives you access to customers in every major city, with marketing, payment processing, and delivery handled for you.

What you'll need

  • Libyan commercial registration (CR number)
  • National ID of the business owner
  • Bank account for weekly payouts (or accept payouts in person at our Tripoli office)
  • At least one product to list — start with one, add more as you grow

Email vendors@souqlibya.ly with your business name, city, and a short description of what you sell. We'll respond within 2 business days with the next steps. If your application is approved, you'll be set up in our admin panel and given access to the Vendor dashboard.

🛵 Deliver with Souq

Souq Libya works with independent couriers in every city. Set your own hours, accept the jobs you want, and earn per delivery plus tips.

What you earn

  • Standard delivery: 8–12 LYD per drop, depending on city and distance
  • Express delivery: 18–25 LYD per drop
  • Cash-on-delivery bonus: 1 LYD per successful COD pickup
  • Customer tips: 100% yours
  • Weekly payouts straight to your account

What you'll need

  • National ID
  • Driving licence (motorcycle or car)

  • A working smartphone with internet

Email couriers@souqlibya.ly with your name, city, and what vehicle you have. We'll set up an in-person KYC check at our Tripoli or Benghazi office, then activate your Courier dashboard.

🔗 Affiliate program

  • Sign up as an affiliate (one-time application, no fee)

By using Souq Libya you agree to these terms. We've tried to keep them short and plain.

Your account

  • You're responsible for the accuracy of your name, phone, and address.
  • Keep your password private. Use 2FA where available.
  • One account per person. Don't share or resell access.

Orders & payments

  • Order prices are recomputed by our server at checkout from current product prices — we never trust the cart's price.
  • You agree to accept and pay for confirmed orders. Refusing a delivered cash-on-delivery order without cause may result in account suspension after repeat incidents.
  • Vendors set their own product prices. Souq Libya charges an 8% platform fee on completed sales.

Prohibited content

  • Counterfeit products, stolen goods, regulated weapons, controlled substances.
  • Illegal services, content that endangers minors, hate speech.
  • Anything prohibited by Libyan law.

Liability

Souq Libya is provided as-is. We're liable for problems we caused (lost orders, billing errors). For product quality, the vendor is the seller of record. We mediate every dispute fairly.

  • Account data: name, email, phone, city, password (hashed).
  • Order data: what you bought, when, delivery address, payment method.
  • Session data: IP address and user-agent on login (used for security audit).

What we don't collect

  • We don't track you across other websites.
  • We don't store full payment-card numbers.
  • We don't sell your data to third parties.

How we use your data

  • To fulfil your orders and contact you about them.
  • To improve the marketplace (anonymised analytics only).
  • For fraud prevention and account security.

Your rights

  • Access: request a copy of everything we hold about you.
  • Correction: update any inaccurate data via your dashboard or by emailing us.
  • Deletion: request that we delete your account and all associated data.
